Participants will be assisting with community development initiatives, working with specialist educators and therapists at a local Special Educational Needs (SEN) school, and at a community center for persons with disabilities, as well as with some of our other longstanding community partners. Service activities will include running health, sports and educational workshops with the students to improve the health and livelihood opportunities for women, youth and people with disabilities in Southern India. Whilst all students are welcome to apply for this program, it will be of particular interest to students with a health, sports, or community development background. All of our projects are led by the needs of the local community, and both contribute to and are reported against the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
During the embedded travel component, housing will consist of: housing information not available at this time.
The process for enrolling in an embedded course varies according to the instructor and/or department. The program leader has indicated that in order to enroll in the course and travel component, students must contact the program leader, Anne Devney, by emailing email@example.com.
