Honors 297 is an annual course held in the spring for Honors students at Penn State Wilkes-Barre. Those enrolled are required to do in depth research on a topic that relates in some way to the embedded travel that is part of the course. This year the class will be traveling abroad for the first time, to London, England.
The course will give students a grounding in culture, and London's history in the UK. It will also enhance the information literacy skills of the students as they research and write their special topics. The end result of their research will be a research poster to be presented at the Celebration of Scholarship, the undergraduate research fair at Penn State Wilkes-Barre. Students will also be exposed to international travel and learn how to be a good global citizen.
During the embedded travel component, housing will consist of overnight accommodations at hotel or hotel.
The process for enrolling in an embedded course varies according to the instructor and/or department. The program leader has indicated that in order to enroll in the course and travel component, students must contact program leader.
