The primary goal of this course is to expose students to tropical agriculture, including the environments of tropical agroecosystems, the production of crops, livestock and forestry within these systems. While the class will focus on agriculture in developing countries in the tropics, with from around the world will be included, Ghana provides an excellent site for an associated short-term study abroad opportunity. Ghana provides a safe, Anglophone site with the ecological and climatic diversity that will allow students to see first-hand a wide diversity of tropical agricultural systems.
During the embedded travel component, housing will consist of overnight accommodations in a hotel/hostel.
The process for enrolling in an embedded course varies according to the instructor and/or department. The program leader has indicated that in order to enroll in the course and travel component, students must contact the program leader.
