The graphic novel is one of the most powerful, unique, current, and ageless means of storytelling. This course, The Graphic Novel in Scotland, will give you hands-on practical experience and the opportunity to explore wide-ranging techniques for translating your own life experiences and imagination into compelling visual narratives and sequential art. You will be exposed to the work of some of the best graphic novel artists working today.
You will partner with students at the University of Dundee--who are majoring in the study of graphic novels--to develop story lines, featuring locations in both the United States and Scotland, collaboratively. You will visit these locations during your study abroad experience, and work on your characters side by side with Dundee students.
During the embedded travel component, housing will consist of hotel accommodations.
The process for enrolling in an embedded course varies according to the instructor and/or department. The program leader has indicated that in order to enroll in the course and travel component, students must contact program leader Emily Steinberg.
