This course is a field seminar program combining practical experience conducting oceanographic research in deep sea and nearshore coral reef environments with learning to sail and operate a tall ship research vessel in the North Atlantic and Caribbean waters near Puerto Rico, and the US and British Virgin Islands.
During the embedded travel component, housing will consist of overnight accommodations at a hotel/hostel and on research vessel.
The process for enrolling in an embedded course varies according to the instructor and/or department. The program leader has indicated that in order to enroll in the course and travel component, students must write a short statement as to why they should be accepted into the course. They also need to provide their GPA.
