Africa and Latin America Grant-in-Aid, Pennsylvania Commonwealth Scholarship

This course is part of an initiative to collaborate with the Children & Youth Empowerment Centre to establish an eco-village in Lamuria, Kenya, a semi-arid zone in the Rift Valley. Students will conduct background research on agricultural production in semi-arid regions of east Africa, culminating with an opportunity for application through on-site assessment work in Kenya.
This course if designated an Embedded Program. This means that the course is taught at Penn State, but includes a brief international excursion as a minor component of a class.
