Programs : Brochure
- Locations: Shanghai, China
- Program Terms: Spring- Embedded
- Restrictions: PSU applicants only
This project will facilitate direct interaction and collaboration between Penn State and Shanghai Jiao Tong University faculty and students who previously had only been collaborating on their industry-sponsored capstone project remotely. Giving students the opportunity to connect directly with their engineering colleagues will expand upon their ongoing experience of partnering remotely on an engineering project. By allowing this remote student team to also experience the culture, environment, constraints, and advantages offered by their global colleagues' China location, these students will gain a well-rounded experience which they will remember for a lifetime.
During the embedded travel component, housing will consist of overnight accommodations at a hotel/hostel.
The process for enrolling in an embedded course varies according to the instructor and/or department. The program leader has indicated that in order to enroll in the course and travel component, students must be actively participating in the SJTU global engineering design projects to be eligible. From there, eligibility will be based on student's participation level in the project, available funding, available passport, etc.
