This 7-day study abroad will use Scotland and Scottish culture as a backdrop to explore the anthropology of alcohol. The adventure will not only visit local distilleries and breweries, but also visit cultural sites and delve into the rich history and social impact of alcohol – one of the world's most utilized psychoactive drugs.
During the embedded travel component, housing will consist of - no information regarding housing available at this time.
The process for enrolling in an embedded course varies according to the instructor and/or department. The program leader has indicated that in order to enroll in the course and travel component, given that subject matter of the course is alcohol, an interview is imperative. Interviews with program leader will make sure that the students who will participate are doing so for educational purposes, and not for a "bar tour". The interviews for potential participants will take place during the last week of November.
